14: Authenticity

TokimekiDesignPodcast_gameplan.001

Hello my beautiful people, how are you doing?

So last week, I have told you guys that I was going to take 1 week off from this podcast to do something exciting. I would love to tell you all about it, and also I want to share with you what other things have been happening in my life. I want to make this episode as a reflection and turning point of my current life.

So, without further ado, let’s get started with today’s show!!!

TokimekiDesignPodcast_gameplan.002

  • In today’s show, I talked about my 1 week off. My intent of a week off was to just experience life. This is because I felt that I was so caught up in creating and missing the beauty of “experiencing”.  (00:03:30)
  • During the past week, I did 2 things: the mountain trip and meeting people. (00:04:50)
  • The greatest discoveries from being in the mountain with a group of people were:
(1). that I realized how much ego I was carrying in everyday life when all I really wanted was to be loved
(2). that I had clarity in many aspects of the things which were no longer serving me
    (00:05:15)
  • The discovery I learned from meeting people was that I was still loveable. It just depends on where I choose to go.  (00:10:40)

13: Speak to Spark

Episode13_creative.001

Hello my beautiful people, how are you doing?
In my last episode, as weekly tokimeki questions, I asked you guys “What is your favorite thing to do in the morning?”
To answer this question myself, I love my tiny habit of spraying my chakra aroma spray and stating one thing that I am grateful for. Reminding myself of that I am surrounded by other people’s love while smelling the scent uplifts my morning. That particular gratitude habit makes me realize how important it is to actually state it out loud what I am grateful for

Speaking of verbalizing things, I got very curious about the powerful magic of speaking.
So today, in my show, I am going to answer a question “how might we be able to speak to spark joy?
I hope that this information can help you learn to speak to spark. And by doing so, I hope that you can create more tokimeki moment!

Now let’s get started with today’s show!!!

Episode13_creative.002

  • Today, I tried to answer a question “how might we be able to speak to spark joy?”  (00:07:02)
  • In the beginning of the show, I described what it means to speak. Speaking is a tool that is necessary for us to find patterns and meanings from this constantly changing world that we live in. (00:07:23)
  • Then I described the powerful influence which your spoken language has, which is that our language contributes a lot to our subjective understanding, because it is one of the strongest framework we use to describe things. And when we use language, we tend to look at the world in a biased way.  (00:10:18)
  • There are 2 ways in which language is bias. One is that the structure of each language differs from language to language, and this affects how we see and understand the world. Another is that even if we use the same language, the real understanding and the meaning behind it differs from person to person.  (00:11:04)
  • Considering these characteristics of language, I shared some actions which helps you speak to spark! They are;
(1). State one thing that sparks joy once a day
(2). Try to record the description of your daily spark of joy somewhere, and continue for at least 1 week
(3). Is there a pattern in the way when you do a story-telling of your spark of joy experience?
By doing these things, I believe that you get to learn to be more familiar in your own spark of joy language! (00:15:19)

12: Keeping the Balance with Hormones

Episode 12_ creative.001

Hello my beautiful people, how are you doing?
In my last episode, as weekly tokimeki questions, I asked you guys They are “What are you thankful for today?” and   “What are do you love about today?”
One thing I realized about myself is that I tend to feel a lot of gratitude and love towards my family, my friends and my circumstances. I am sure my listeners can relate to me, but we tend to give gratitude and love towards someone else. That’s very important but as much as that, I have been realizing it is also important to give gratitude and love to ourselves.

Speaking of giving gratitude and love to ourselves, I found it the hardest when my performance is not going well. When I am in such circumstances, one thing that helped me still give gratitude and love was to know what is going on from different anglesAs a new angle, today I would like to talk about hormones. I believe that by understanding hormones, we can reach to another level of understanding ourselves better. And by doing so, it will make it easier for us to give gratitude and love to ourselves when we don’t feel our best.

So today, in my show, I am going to answer a question “how might we be able to balance ourselves by understanding hormones?
I hope that this information makes it easier for you to create harmony with yourself, and you can give more gratitude and love to yourself!

Now let’s get started with today’s show!!!

Episode 12_ creative.002

  • Today, I tried to answer a question “how might we be able to balance ourselves by understanding hormones?” The reason behind it is that by understanding what is happening to us internally, I thought that we will be able to give gratitude and love to ourselves better and create awesome energy waves on this planet!  (00:08:01)
  • In the beginning I described a bigger picture of what hormone actually is, I then described some types of hormones that help us function well in detail.  (00:09:03)
  • Hormones maintain our body and mind at the best condition by functioning as a messenger of the body. There are more than 100 kinds of hormones in our body, and each has its own function. And the most important thing about hormones is that there are no such hormones that we should have more of. Instead, we feel our best when we can keep them in balance.  (00:09:15)
  • In the show, I have introduced some of the hormones which support us to feel good in the morning, because I believe that if you can “design” your morning best, you are more likely to feel good throughout the whole day! There are 5 main hormones which are produced in the morning, and they are orexin, serotonin, cortisol, testosterone and vasopressin.  (00:12:25)
  • By considering these hormones, I suggested 3 ideas that will help you “design” your morning best. They are… Greet to the Sun, Listen to ukulele music as a background and Have a routine. (00:15:16)
  • Every time I do a research about us humans, I am always amazed at how we “already have” all the things we need. In this case, we already have a way to balance ourselves to feel good in ourselves. We are quite amazing, you know?  (00:19:50)

11: Emotion is Energy in Motion

Episode 11_ creatives.001

Hello my beautiful people, how are you doing?
In my last episode, as a weekly tokimeki question, I asked you guys “What is your favorite thing in nature?” My answer to this question is the Sun! I mean, the Sun just creates energy and gives it to all the living things. So, I love the Sun.

Speaking of energy, living things always create some kind of energy. Us humans are always creating energy, even when we are sleeping.
Then I started to wonder if all the energy is the same. I remember that in my physics class, I learned about how there are different frequencies for certain energy. As I told you that I have been doing neuro feedback recently, and from observing my brain waves, I can witness that I as an individual create certain amount of certain frequency at times. Now, this lead me to wonder “is there a way to create more of those energy which has positive frequency?”

So today, in my show, I am going to answer a question “how might we be able to create energy which has frequencies of positivity?” I hope that this information makes it easier for you to create energy vibration of positivity. And by vibrating such waves from you, I hope that you can create more tokimeki moment!

Now let’s get started with today’s show!!!

Episode 11_ creatives.002

  • Today, I tried to answer a question “how might we be able to create energy which has frequencies of positivity?” I believe that we humans are vibrating certain frequency of energy waves through the form of “emotion”. For this reason, in this episode, we are going to try to find ways to create emotions which have positive frequencies. (00:07:14)
  • On top of the obvious reasons, I explained why it is that important to create positive emotions from a cognitive science point of view. If we practice feeling positive emotions, because of selective attention it facilitates us to pay attention to things that create positive emotions in any situation. And when this happens, we become more resilient in new environment, and we become more confident to challenge new things.  (00:08:17)
  • I then introduced some ways in which you can create positive emotions. In the episode, I have demonstrated 7 distinct stages of emotion. Stage1 to stage4 reflect negative emotions, while stage5 to stage7 reflect positive emotions.   (00:12:42)
  • The first thing you need to do when you catch yourself in negative emotion is to state which stage you are at and try to simply articulate how you are feeling. At the moment when you are experiencing negative feelings, all you are doing is you are paying your attention to the negative things. When this happen, it can be very difficult to state positive things, because it is such a dramatic shift. So instead, I suggest you to state things that are going very neutral, so that you can shift yourself from negative into neutral. Once you get comfortable being in neutral state, then you start to state things that are more positive. And this is how you transform yourself from negative emotion to positive emotions.  (00:14:00)
  • I hope that this strategy can become your habit when you experience negative feelings, so that you can feel more competent to be in any feelings because you know you can get back soon. And by doing so, I hope that you create a lot of positive vibrations on this beautiful planet! (00:19:54)

10: Simply Observing Thoughts

Episode 10 creative.001
Hello my beautiful people, how are you doing?

So last week, we talked about shame.
It is interesting that often times we don’t realize that this uncomfortable feeling we carry is called “shame” and also it is a very natural part of human to feel this way. Creating last episode made it easier for me to break down “shame” I was feeling, and I feel more comfortable being myself because I understand me better.
And I hope that you guys have also felt this way too.
Before trying to break down and understand what was going through my mind like I did in the last episode, I felt that when I feel sad or uncomfortable, I had to do something to fix it. And because of this, I end up binge eating like crazy, as one of the ways to make me feel a little more comfortable. But the interesting thing I have been realizing is that I don’t always need to react to my sensations. Sometimes, I can just simply observe what is happening, and I don’t always need to try so hard to fix it. And I want to share with you how I try to observe my feelings.

So today, I am going to answer a question “how might we be able to observe our mind?
I hope that this information makes it easier for you to understand a little deeper about yourself when you feel uncomfortable feelings inside. And by understanding yourself as a whole including a little negative sides, I hope that you can create more tokimeki moment!

Now let’s get started with today’s show!!!

Episode 10 creative.002

  • Today, I tried to answer a question “how might we be able to observe our mind? (00:08:34)
  • This is because we all experience uncomfortable sensations in our life, and that is okay to feel that way because is natural part of being human. And our goal for today is to learn a method that lets us simply observe when those feelings occur, instead of reacting all of sudden. (00:08:40)
  • As a method for observing our feelings, in today’s show, I have introduced Embodied Meta-cognition, which was proposed by Professor Masaki Suwa from Keiko University in Japan.  (00:09:45)
  • Embodied meta-cognition is an act of reflecting on one’s own thoughts, perceptions and movements from their own experience. And by using this method, we can observe and deepen our understanding of our own cognition, so that we can understand ourselves better.  (00:11:00)
  • There are 6 steps in this method, and they are…
(1). Which object in the environment do you acknowledge?
(2). For that object, what kind of characteristics or relationships do you acknowledge?(3). How is your body moving?   *It is better if you can state the specific body part.
(4). What kind of bodily sensations do you feel?
(5). How are you making sense of the object you are aware of? (which we covered in question 1&2)
(6). What kind of purpose or problem awareness do you realize you have?
    (00:14:15)
  • By answering these 6 questions, I hope that you will be able to observe your feelings better and don’t need to react to them.  (00:23:02)
